Spain captain Carles Puyol is substituted against Sweden

With Spain coach Luis Aragonés still not entirely sure whether or not to change his lineup completely for the third Group D match against Greece, his hand is likely to be forced with regards to Carles Puyol, Santi Cazorla and David Silva.

Test results
Following tests on the three players, each of whom has played a significant part in the two opening victories, none managed to train in Neustift this morning. After various medical examinations, it appears that both Cazorla and Puyol have joint stiffness and soreness around their left and right feet respectively, sufficient to leave them too tender to train and in need of remedial treatment. Valencia CF midfielder Silva twisted his ankle during training yesterday and while it is a relatively minor problem the likelihood is that he, like FC Barcelona captain Puyol and Villarreal CF winger Cazorla, will miss Wednesday’s match in Salzburg versus the eliminated holders.
